RecoverOz, has recently changed its name from Living Solutions.  The organisation is headed by George Thompson. George is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counsellor, and is a Clinical Member of the Australian Counselling Association. He is a Churchill Scholar and was the Director of the well known Warburton Hospital for 8 years. He has over 15 years experience in the Drug and Alcohol field, and as well as being a consultant for a number of organisations, he is also a counsellor trainer.  

RecoverOz, is the only private resource company in Australia dedicated to serving the needs of the Counselling, Self Help and Youth sectors. The company came about during a series of conferences which were ran in 1998 and 1999 at the Warburton Hospital.  Hazelden were represented at these conferences, as were a number of other well know International speakers including Claudia Black, Earnie Larsen and a number of our own experts including Tim Costello and Brian Watters (ex head of Australian National Council for Alcohol and Drugs) 

Hazelden (the largest drug and alcohol resource organisation in the world) loved attending the conference and meeting with the delegates and George was asked to represent them in Australia and New Zealand. Since then, RecoverOz has expanded its range of products to include a large selection of material for the Youth Sector and Schools. This remains one of our fastest growing areas due almost entirely to the product range from Free Spirit, which was taken on as our main schools distributer 2 years after we took on Hazelden.   

So, whether you are here because you are looking for product for youth….or you are a young person yourself, you are maybe a professional in the Drug and Alcohol field or you may be a person who is recovering from addiction to a substance or a behaviour yourself, then we probably have a book or a DVD for you.   

 We pride ourselves on the fact that when people contact us, we can advise them on a book, workbook or DVD, and we have the expert knowledge about the enquiry being made.  We are not a company that just sells books and stuff, we can actually help you find what you are after.  George, being a counsellor himself, will always help a person to get the advice they need, and in fact the company helps a good number of people every year get into treatment for addictions.  We can also advise teachers and youth workers on issues that face young people if they require more than just a book to read.
